A PAEDOPHILE has been jailed for raping a girl more than 220 times since she was six years old.
Anthony Morgan, 41, of no fixed address, admitted his sick sex assaults were part of a “campaign of rape”.
Paedophile Anthony Morgan has been jailed for 14 years after raping a girl since she was six
He was sentenced to 16 years in prison with an extended four years on licence after preying on his victim on 225 separate occasions.
He would offer her treats in exchange for sex.
Judge Andrew Menary, QC, said: “You repeatedly raped almost week in, week out that young girl, on too many occasions to count.
“What you have done to this girl is to essentially ruin her life up to this point.
“Who knows whether or not she will ever recover from the psychological ordeal and impact you have inflicted upon her.”
The victim was warned to keep quiet, but finally confided in an adult about her rape ordeal.
Dan Travers, prosecuting, told Liverpool crown court: “He would ask her to have sex and when she refused he would keep asking. He would eventually get angry and just do it anyway.
“It’s difficult to envisage a more serious campaign of rape.”
Morgan – also known as Anthony Murphy – admitted eight counts of rape and one count of attempted rape.
He denied raping the girl no less than 60 times, when she was aged just four and five.
