If rumors are to be believed, there’s a new flagship-level Nokia handset in the pipeline that’s due later this year. HMD Global, the company that’s making Nokia-branded devices, hasn’t confirmed anything as yet but a purported unit has landed at a French publication which has leaked some images and specifications of the Nokia 9.
It’s not known for sure what this device will end up being called when it’s released. Previous rumors suggest that it may be called the Nokia 8 but, at least for now, it’s being referred to as the Nokia 9.
The folks at frandroid.com got a chance to play with the Nokia 9. The actual design of the handset isn’t visible since the unit that landed at the scribe appears to be hidden behind a protective case.
They found that it has a 5.3 inch Quad HD resolution display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of storage. It runs Android 7.1.1 and has support for QuickCharge 3.0. The Nokia 9 is also said to feature a 2×13 megapixel dual camera system at the back with a dual LED flash.
It goes without saying that these are flagship-level specifications for this unannounced device and you can be sure that it’s going to be priced in the same bracket. Rumors suggest that the Nokia 9 may be priced as high as $700.
HMD Global is yet to confirm when this smartphone is going to be launched. Perhaps we might see it come out with the Nokia 9 in the third quarter of this year.
