PRETORIA: The family of a woman who was shot 13 times in Soshanguve is struggling to repatriate her body to her home in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

Sikhethiwe Moyo (30) was shot in Soshanguve block NN, while on her way to catch a taxi last Wednesday.

Her killer then took out a SIM card from her phone and fled. The phone was found next to her body.

“She’s still stuck in the mortuary. We are busy with arrangements to transport her body back home. It is not easy. It requires a lot of money,” said her aunt Sikhululekile Moyo.

Sikhethiwe leaves behind three children, two boys aged eight and four, and a girl aged five.

“She was everything to her children. Now the children have been left in shock and misery.”

“They have to be taken back to their grandparents in Zimbabwe. There’s no one to take them to school and there is no free education in Zimbabwe.”

Police spokesperson Captain Stephen Maluleka said police were hot on the heels of an armed and dangerous murder suspect who shot and killed the woman.

Maluleka said on Tuesday the murder suspect was on the loose but added an intense manhunt would not end until they found the gunman.

Maluleka said the woman was apparently on her way to catch a taxi in the early hours of the morning when she was shot.

She was declared dead on the scene by emergency medical services.

“Only seven cartridges of a 9mm pistol were found at the scene,” said Maluleka.

“The motive for the murder remains unknown since her belongings, handbag and cellphone, were found scattered near her body.”

The family asked anyone able to help to contact them through the Rietgat SAPS, as they were afraid to give out their number since the murderer was still on the loose.

Rietgat police may be contacted on 012-432-7806, Crime Stop on 086-001-0111 or send an SMS to Crime Line on 32211.
