London’s teen killings double as second 17-year-old is stabbed to death in last four days

A teenager has been stabbed to death during an attack at a park in south London.

Scotland Yard today launched a murder probe after the man, believed to be in his teens, was fatally knifed at Betts Park, in Penge, at 7.20pm on Thursday.

Officers rushed to the scene and discovered the victim with several stab wounds.Police, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance crews battled to save the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene just after 8.15pm.

The youngster is thought to be the 16th teenager stabbed to death on London’s streets this year – and the 22nd killed overall.

The Metropolitan Police said his next of kin have been informed, while the park and surrounding roads have been cordoned off.

No arrests have been made.
