Regional leaders have noted with “great concern the unfolding political situation” in Zimbabwe, the Southern African Development Community (Sadc) has said in a statement.
The leaders of South Africa and Angola – Jacob Zuma and his Angolan counterpart Joao Lourenco – would travel to Zimbabwe tomorrow, the statement said.
Lawmakers, who are debating a motion to impeach President Robert Mugabe, will vote on the matter tomorrow.
The visit will be the first by regional leaders to Zimbabwe since last Wednesday’s army takeover.
