UNITED KINGDOM – The African National Congress (ANC) is Zanu-PF’s preferred governing party in South Africa this was said by Zimbabwean official Saturday.

Zanu-PF politician Simbarashe Mumbengegwi made the comment at the ANC’s 54th elective conference in Nasrec, Johannesburg.

The ruling party in Zimbabwean, which recently saw a leadership change itself when the army forced President Robert Mugabe to quit, had a warm message of support for the ANC.

Mumbengegwi thanked the South African Development Corporation (SADC), which South Africa chairs, for its role in the Zimbabwean “succession issue.”

The politician told delegates, half of which had already left the stage, the mission was meant to rescue the legacy of Zanu-PF.

Mumbengegwi added the move was not targetting Mugabe.
