Zimbabwe Finance Minister Prof Mthuli Ncube has appointed a controversial Zanu PF activist the new spokesman for the ministry.
William Gerald Mutumanje, better known as Acie Lumumba, will chair the ministry’s ‘Communications Taskforce’ and will be expected to work three days a week.
The appointment was confirmed by the finance minister on Friday.
Lumumba, who worked as an election strategist for the ruling Zanu PF was appointed on a performance-based contract effective from 19 October, 2018.
Lumumba will will also be asked to “ensure that any agreed deliverables are produced.”
