Mnangagwa participated in the ceremony of laying the first stone of the new innovation center of that house of high studies and pointed out that the emergence of this university is not only done on time, but it is timely because it expands Zimbabwe’s human capital development in several disciplines in the context of defense, security and protection of the country.
This center is incorporated into higher education with the aim of contributing to the revitalization, industrialization, modernization and growth of our country, said the Head of State and Government.
He said that to achieve that end, the university must offer dynamic, cutting-edge ideas, skills and innovations that allow Zimbabwe a new trajectory of economic growth.
The President urged this university to compete with other institutions of higher education in areas of research ‘necessary to understand and analyze with authority contemporary national problems with the use of theoretical and empirical tools to obtain pragmatic and realistic results.’
He stressed that defense, security and strategy studies are part of the curriculum of many universities and their graduates, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, have contributed to the advancement of their nations’ economies.
