The fire started at around 14:30 hours when a generator burst into flames igniting fierce fire just opposite Matsa Energy, a gas holding storage near Solomons Restaurant.
The unfortunate incident sparked a rage of fire after the petrol generator burst up into flames causing a rapid spread with a worry on Engen Service Station, fearing that the fuel night be ignited but it is now almost under contol with dark smoke now subsiding.
The team from Harare Fire Brigade has fought relentlessly to extinguish the flames but the usual busy complex became more busier as people gathered to watch the accident.
The informal sector has been hit countlessly with huge loses and those who were lucky managed to salvage few belongings.
