Harare- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has cut short his annual leave due to the deteriorating crisis that the country continues to grapple with.

The recent month long medical doctors strike coupled with other economic pressing issues have been cited as part of his leave cancellation.

In a tweet by the Ministry of Information Mnangagwa said he had cut short his leave in order to help resolve the doctors’ strike with his deputy Constantino Chiwenga.

“I have cut short my leave to be in immediate and active consultation with the Acting President (Constantino Chiwenga) in resolving the situation in the health sector” said Mnangagwa

Mnangagwa’s short lived vacation is believed to have been necessitated by growing calls from the society that the President ought to resolve the issues currently bedeviling the nation.

Among the issues is the deteriorating economic situation that has seen Doctors embarking on an industrial action as well as spiraling prices of basic commodities.
