Kenyan police have summoned Finance Minister Henry Rotich for questioning for a second time over a multi-million dollar scandal involving advance payments for two dam projects, the head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said.
Mr Rotich is currently at the headquarters of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in the capital, Nairobi.
“He must answer several questions,” DCI head George Kinoti was quoted by Reuters news agency as saying.
The DCI is investigating advance payments made to various firms for the construction of two dams, valued at more than $600m.
In an earlier statement, Mr Rotich denied there had been any wrongdoing, saying payments had been made in strict accordance with the law.
