A 19-year-old woman in Botswana has been charged for “mimicking” First Lady Neo Masisi in a Facebook post
According to the news site, on or around on 11 November Moniwe Nicholas Kamwi shared a Facebook post which violated the country’s cyber crime laws which came into effect in 2018.
The charge sheet mentions her “posting a photo of First Lady Neo Masisi… likening her with comedian William Motsetserepa,” according to Mmegi Online.
Such an offence can carry a fine of up to 20,000 Bostwanan pulas (£1,400; $1,800) or up to a year in prison, the news site says.
