Malawi- Just as per warning from health experts towards the handling of returnees from high risk coronavirus countries by government, Malawi has registered 102 positive cases of the coronavirus within 48 hours totaling to 203.
Yesterday, over 400 returnees from South Africa bolted from a quarantine site hours later before results were administered to them, citing lack of food and proper hygiene at the place.
According to Minister of Health Jappie Mhango said the 102 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the country on 25 and 26 May.
Mhango said this means a total of 203 cases, including 4 deaths have now been confirmed in Malawi since the first case was reported on 2 April.
“92 positive cases are from the South African buses that arrived in the country, while 7 positive have been confirmed from samples that were collected from truck drivers and other travelers at Mwanza district Boarder with Mozambique.
“And 3 other positives have also been confirmed in the capital city of Lilongwe,” said Mhango
