United States President Donald Trump says he is feeling “really good” and will be leaving hospital tonight after being treated for coronavirus.
The US president tweeted: “I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 PM.” (11.30pm UK time).
“Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life,” he added.
“We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”
Mr Trump’s doctors are now giving an update on his condition.
They said he was doing well enough to go home, but is not “entirely out of the woods yet”.
However, his decision to do a “drive by” of supporters on Sunday was criticised for potentially endangering the Secret Service officers in the car with him.
A White House spokesman said it “was cleared by the medical team as safe to do” and that precautions were taken.
